Welborne Village Hall – Update on Repairs

Ever get excited about chimneys?

You do if you have responsibility for maintaining a Grade II- listed community resource where trees are growing in cracks at the very top of the chimney and jackdaws fill the fire grate with nesting material. South Norfolk District Council have come to the rescue in providing support through their “Community Action Fund”.

“You cant see any difference”, said one resident. That’s the point. With sufficient resources and a skilled builder the chimney is now perfect – safe, bird-proof, and beautiful. This improvement joins other work to upgrade communication and energy efficiency to give us a community resource that is perfect for small scale events in an historic and intimate space.
